July '11 Sketches

I don't have access to Paint Shop Pro right now, so I had to deal with Paint to put this together. I haven't used that program in years. I've been spoiled by PSP. Because Paint lacks the proper tools, I couldn't clean up the last two pictures here, so they still look really messy. My apologies; there isn't anything I can do about it.

The first picture here was done while I still had Paint Shop Pro. Just a quick headshot for a newer character of mine: Allen. I used more saturated colors than I normally do with this because I've been having issues with my laptop's screen; it looks fine when I use duller colors for stuff like this, then I look at it on another computer and it looks terrible, so I did the opposite for this. Does the skin tone here look better than it does here? These two characters are supposed to have the same skin tone.

Next is some more colored pencil practice. I'm still trying to figure it out. Carson's odd hairstyle makes a return! I don't draw him this way often because I'm still trying to figure out how he could possibly put it up that way. So far, all I've managed to deduct is that he uses a lot of hair gel.

Last is just some pencil shading practice. Now that I have the colored pencils, I don't do that a lot, so I figured I should try it again. I should've known better than to add in Aaron's glasses; I can never shade those.
